The Evolution of Blockchain Games
As time passes, various game consoles and game genres had been release and enjoyed in many generations. From the Home Console like Magnavox Odyssey, to Playstation, and Xbox to Handheld unit like Microvision, Gameboy to Playstation Portable (PSP) to Gaming Laptops and Gaming Mobiles unit.
Various games have been launched and released with different genres that makes really entertaining from kids to adults who love to play video games. From Platformers, Puzzle and party games, Shooters (FPS and TPS), Role-playing (RPG, ARPG, and More), Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) and more.
Perhaps many of us have played all of that, while others have just stuck to a few games, but we have only one thing in common — we rejoice with each passing hour. The thrill every time you hear the opening song of each game and the eagerness to discover that you can uncover a secret on the game. Sometimes when we play too hard, we heavily pressed the buttons, or we act as if we are the ones being hit. It’s funny when we think of or see someone with the same scenario.
Lately, with the help of Social Media, “Game Influencers” are now posting their games on various social media accounts such as Youtube and FB, from retro games to newly released NFT games.
So, what is NFT games?
I’m sure many of us seen and watched this so-called games on social media but not all of us understand and know what this latest game that some people are busy with.
An NFT game combines traditional gaming features with new gameplay mechanisms to give players more influence over in-game assets such as skins, characters, weapons, virtual territories, and many more.
This type of games only launched on blockchain’s and anchoring them to digital asset-powered economies is making it viable. NFTs are commonly used for these digital assets because they are unique and tamper-proof.
Implementing NFT token standards also allow developers to keep certain in-game products rare and unique. Therefore, some blockchain gaming assets are seen as more valuable than other.
In other words, NFT games are “Play and Earn” or P&E games. P&E games are in vogue, especially now pandemic. The reason is they make money while playing and they still enjoy as time goes by. Perhaps it is also a way to reduce the number of infected cases in this pandemic because instead of gambling to find and apply for a job, some people prefer this method that they know will help them survive this pandemic period.
